Since the beginning, Americans have fought and died for their country. They’ve fought to gain independence, to maintain independence, to defend another nation’s freedom, and to this day to ensure our freedom and democracy.

Men and women have played and continue to play an important role in defending our nation. It is on this 11^th day of the 11^th month of the year that we take time to reflect and honor those men and women.

My respect and appreciation for those that endure a lifetime of sacrifices remains resolute. My sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to all the men and women who have served our military in any capacity.

As recognition Cluckers would like to present all Veterans and Active-Duty Military a FREE entrée. Show us your Veteran’s Organization Card or Military I.D. and choose from a special Veteran’s Day menu with Clucker’s favorite entrées. This is Cluckers way of saying Thank You!

They say all you need is a tailgate but all you really need is a Texan spirit. Last year, Reliant Stadium was recognized as having the best tailgating experience by Commissioner, Joe Cahn, as he made his way through to every NFL Stadium. Yes, Texans know how to serve it up. Better yet, Houstonites know how to make it work!

And so does Cluckers. We know that Tailgating is a huge part of the Texans Games so we have partnered up with the Houston Texans Liberty Tailgaters (TLT) as the official ‘Home Away from Home’. Every Texans Away Game Cluckers and TLT brings the fans together @ Cluckers for revelry like no other. It’s understood – EXCLUSIV-O!

What’s the story?! You can’t beat it. The price is $20.00 per person, all-you-can-drink domestic draft, fun and games (we’re talking washers, ping pong, beer pong, face-painting, etc.), TWO (yes, dos) 70+ inch HD TVs, Clucker’s special Texans Tailgate menu, and the TLT decked out bus! Have you seen it?! It’s totally rockin’ out – and…oh…how the beer is a-flowin’ from that bus!

So, if you haven’t had a chance to join us, TLT, and our sensational, Texans-wow-fans, it’s not too late. We’ll be helping TLT kick-off this Sunday at the Reliant Center (7 AM early birds!) – $15 a person (@ Reliant only) – all you can eat and drink. Karaoke Cluckers Style

When some of us think of karaoke, we imagine a group of ‘twenties’ wailing their favorite oldie-but-goodie after guzzling a fair amount of liquid courage – passing it off as something of a drunk man’s sport. Or some pretend karaoke is a trend for individuals that can swoon the crowd over with vocals that would land them a spot on American Idol. In either case, it’s easy to imagine this form of entertainment available only to young adults 21 and over.

Why not? In the beginning, karaoke events were only held in bars before machines were made for the home consumer.

While Cluckers is a Sports Bar and Grill, it is a family friendly establishment. I find it’s quite unique. Not only do you get tasty, hot wings (in many flavors) and ice cold drinks, you get weekly karaoke entertainment that can make anyone feel like a star.

Thursday night karaoke has been a hit and has become a form of family socialization and summer pastime. It is not age or group biased. Patrons as young as five-years old are given the chance to express their talent and talent there has been! If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of catchin’ an earful of Clucker’s patrons singing their favorite tunes – come out, have a drink, meet your neighbors and be a star.

CODE 5150 – Flame On!

Anyone that likes challenges – and tongue scorching – ought to put themselves to the possibly regrettable yet brave and worthy test of Clucker’s blazin’ hot 5150 Wall of Flame Challenge.

What does it take to make it to the 5150 Wall of Flame?

If you can eat 10 (yes ten) wings soaked in Clucker’s Code 5150 – flippity-eff’n hot – sauce – within six minutes, you’ll have earned your spot on the Wall of Flame.

I like challenges and I love food with hot sauce or spicy salsa. At the age of four, I drenched my Ruffles® with Tabasco® sauce. If you don’t think that makes me an aficionado, let me tell you, I fix most of my meals with some of my dad’s fiery salsa recipe – which he concocts with 6 Serrano peppers to 1 Tomato ratio. Indeed, the need for spice in my life continues.

So, I tried the 5150 Wall of Flame challenge and I’m still eating ice cream every day to soothe my burning hemorrhoids. Whoa. While I didn’t make it to the Hall of Flame, I did get runner’s up within the Wall of Shame. I’ll take what I can get, right?!

If you’re interested in taking on the heat, here’s what I suggest:

Pick yourself a good pair of balls. Stress balls, that is. You might need them a few days later to hold you over while you ‘drop the kids off at the pool’ (I tell ya, I wish I had something to hold on to). Then head over to JJ’s Clucker’s Wing Bar & Grill with your friends on a Friday night.
