A Day to Remember and Honor…

November 11th, 2010 by Coop Queen

Since the beginning, Americans have fought and died for their country. They’ve fought to gain independence, to maintain independence, to defend another nation’s freedom, and to this day to ensure our freedom and democracy.

Men and women have played and continue to play an important role in defending our nation.  It is on this 11th day of the 11th month of the year that we take time to reflect and honor those men and women.

My respect and appreciation for those that endure a lifetime of sacrifices remains resolute. My sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to all the men and women who have served our military in any capacity.

As recognition Cluckers would like to present all Veterans and Active-Duty Military a FREE entrée. Show us your Veteran’s Organization Card or Military I.D. and choose from a special Veteran’s Day menu with Clucker’s favorite entrées. This is Cluckers way of saying Thank You!

Tailgate Away and Away…

September 9th, 2010 by Coop Queen

Behold, the tailgate party – the pinnacle of human achievement. Since the dawn of parking lots, man has sought to fill his gut with food and alcohol in anticipation of watching others exercise. “- Homer Simpson

They say all you need is a tailgate but all you really need is a Texan spirit. Last year, Reliant Stadium was recognized as having the best tailgating experience by Commissioner, Joe Cahn, as he made his way through to every NFL Stadium. Yes, Texans know how to serve it up. Better yet, Houstonites know how to make it work!

And so does Cluckers. We know that Tailgating is a huge part of the Texans Games so we have partnered up with the Houston Texans Liberty Tailgaters (TLT) as the official ‘Home Away from Home’. Every Texans Away Game Cluckers and TLT brings the fans together @ Cluckers for revelry like no other. It’s understood – EXCLUSIV-O!

What’s the story?! You can’t beat it. The price is $20.00 per person, all-you-can-drink domestic draft, fun and games (we’re talking washers, ping pong, beer pong, face-painting, etc.), TWO (yes, dos) 70+ inch HD TVs, Clucker’s special Texans Tailgate menu, and the TLT decked out bus! Have you seen it?! It’s totally rockin’ out – and…oh…how the beer is a-flowin’ from that bus!

So, if you haven’t had a chance to join us, TLT, and our sensational, Texans-wow-fans, it’s not too late. We’ll be helping TLT kick-off this Sunday at the Reliant Center (7 AM early birds!) – $15 a person (@ Reliant only) – all you can eat and drink. So, get to steppin’, socialize, and buzz-on the Texans to drive through to the playoffs by knocking down the Colts! And remember to visit Cluckers for the Texans Away Games!

Check out a few photos of Clucker’s first Tailgate with TLT, Saturday, August 14, 2010.

Karaoke Cluckers Style

July 16th, 2010 by Coop Queen

When some of us think of karaoke, we imagine a group of ‘twenties’ wailing their favorite oldie-but-goodie after guzzling a fair amount of liquid courage – passing it off as something of a drunk man’s sport. Or some pretend karaoke is a trend for individuals that can swoon the crowd over with vocals that would land them a spot on American Idol. In either case, it’s easy to imagine this form of entertainment available only to young adults 21 and over.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on possibility of LB Bruce Carter will start next season: 'That's a jump or presumptuous'

January 26, 2012 from cowboysblog.dallasnews.com

MOBILE, Ala. — It was interesting to hear Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Tuesday say on the NFL Network while at the Senior Bowl that it is his “dream” to see his young inside linebackers, Sean Lee and Bruce Carter, form an All-Pro combination such as the way San Francisco’s Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman played together this season.

Just the day before, I had asked Jones if he envisions Bruce Carter starting at inside linebacker for the Cowboys next season.

“I think that’s a jump or presumptuous,” Jerry Jones replied. “It was amazing what Bruce Carter was able to do relative to the time you assess when you have that kind of injury. He was outstanding in his rehab. He was really used with the speed and skill on special teams, he made some good plays for us, did some things out there a lot of normal players can’t do. If he can carry that over, which he should be able to do, to defense he should make a good defender for us.”

Lee performed like an All-Pro in his first year to start for the Cowboys, leading the team in tackles and tying for the team lead with four interceptions. Carter, the Cowboys’ second-round pick ini 2011 out of North Carolina, rarely saw the field on defense after missing the first half of the season while still recovering from knee surgery.

Jazz spoil Fredette's return to Utah (AP)

January 29, 2012 from sports.yahoo.com

Sacramento Kings guard Jimmer Fredette (7) leaves the court after the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Utah Jazz , Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, in Salt Lake City. The Utah Jazz won 96-93.

The stage was all set Saturday night for Jimmer Fredette, in a state where “Jimmermania” had taken hold. Instead of draining what could have been a game-winning 3-pointer for Sacramento with 4.2 seconds left, the former Brigham Young star launched an air ball. The Utah Jazz hung on for a 96-93 win over the Kings to snap a two-game losing streak.
